Bio
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Kyle Heffner joined the Surgery Team of Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in May 2018. He came to CRMC from Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis where he worked as a CRNA for three years. During his time at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Heffner would likely be providing anesthesia in the Heart Hospital or the Mother Baby Center as he was a member of both the Cardiothoracic and High-Risk Obstetrical anesthesia specialty teams. The CRNA earned a master’s degree in Nurse Anesthesia at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Before beginning his master’s program, he provided bedside nursing care in Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Units at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Duluth and Sanford/Merit Care Hospital in Fargo.
Heffner also served as a Reserve Deputy for the Cass County North Dakota Sheriff’s Department working with the people of Cass County and inmates of the Cass County Jail for three years. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth where he also served as Student Body President and Nursing Class Representative his senior year.
When Heffner is not providing anesthesia care at CRMC, he can often be found enjoying the outdoors with his wife Heather, who is also a member of the CRMC surgery team as a Surgical Secretary, and his family and friends. Heffner enjoys spending time at his family’s summer cabin east of Aitkin or enjoying the woods and waters of the beautiful Brainerd Lakes Area, Canada, Lake of the Woods, and the Great Lakes.
