Jessica Mudgett joined Cuyuna Regional Medical Center as a Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner in December 2018, focusing on the general medical care of hospitalized patients. She is dual board-certified in Family Practice and Acute Care. Mudgett came to CRMC from Lakewood Assisted Living in Staples, where she worked as a Registered Nurse since 2013. She also worked as a Registered Nurse and Case Manager for Lakewood Homecare and Hospice in Staples and as a Certified Nursing Assistant for Goodneighbor Home HealthCare in Brainerd.  Mudgett also completed several clinical rotations at Lakewood Health System in Staples.  A member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Minnesota APRN Coalition, Mudgett earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice, Family Nurse Practitioner, and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth.  She also holds an Associate Degree in Nursing and Practical Nursing Licensure Certification from Central Lakes College in Brainerd.

“I find almost all interactions with my patients enjoyable and fulfilling. That is why I furthered my nursing education and specialized as an Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner.  That is not to say some interactions are not more challenging than others because they certainly are. However, working alongside patients daily to meet their healthcare goals and overcome healthcare challenges is remarkable. When all of these decisions lead to good healthcare outcomes for the patient, and they are satisfied with their care, especially when they took an active part in the plan, there is no better feeling. I could not picture myself doing anything other than this.”
