Bio
Obstetrician/Gynecologist Jennifer Tessmer-Tuck, M.D., joined CRMC’s medical staff in October 2020. She is passionate about providing safe and high-quality care for women while working to meet their personalized health goals and maintaining a high level of patient satisfaction. She came to CRMC from North Memorial Health in Robbinsdale, where she served as Vice President of Medical Affairs and an OB/GYN hospitalist. She previously practiced at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester and Allina Health in Hastings.
Dr. Tessmer-Tuck grew up in Moorhead and attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She earned her Medical Degree at the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis and completed her internship and residency at Oregon Health and Sciences University in Portland, where she was elected Chief Resident. A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), Dr. Tessmer-Tuck was named one of Minnesota Monthly’s Top Doctors in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. In 2016, Metro Doctors, the Journal of the Twin Cities Medical Society, recognized her in the article “Contributions to Medicine by Six Outstanding Female Physicians.” Dr. Tessmer-Tuck’s passion is improving care for women during pregnancy and delivery. She serves on the Board of the Minnesota Perinatal Quality Collaborative, the Minnesota Hospital Association Perinatal Committee, the MN ACOG Advisory Council, and the National Council for Patient Safety in Women’s Health Care.
Dr. Tessmer-Tuck enjoys caring for women across their lifespans, whether a new teen is being seen for the first time or a more mature woman with a chronic concern. Every day in the clinic, she encounters an exciting mix of different people and families, which keeps her energized and having fun!
“OBGYNs have the luxury of having both short, intense relationships with patients (such as GYN surgery and 6-week follow up) and longer-lasting and ongoing relationships with women (such as prenatal care and delivery lasting 10+ months and then additional deliveries years later or ongoing annual exams). I like both experiences and the chance to explore what the PATIENT wants her delivery to be like or what she is hoping her outcome will be after surgery, or check in on her and her family every year at her annual exam.”
Outside of her practice, Dr. Tessmer-Tuck is active in improving maternal and child health care internationally and has traveled extensively to teach and practice OB/GYN, including in Argentina, Honduras, Mexico, and Tanzania. Her husband, Paul, is a 1988 graduate of Crosby-Ironton High School, and they are thrilled that they’re close to the mountain bike trails and the region’s beauty. She enjoys buying and renovating houses for rental use, international travel, and hanging with her husband and three boys.
