Bio

Doctoral-prepared, certified Nurse Practitioner Jennifer Burgos, DNP, APRN, CNP, joined the Interventional Pain team at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in 2024, bringing more than 20 years of healthcare experience to the team. Jen has an extensive background in healthcare, having worked in surgical services, hospital medicine, home care, school health, primary care, case management, and administration. She is compassionate, which is evident in her ability to build meaningful patient relationships. Living with chronic conditions can be challenging, and Jen strives to help her patients live their best lives. Burgos was awarded 2nd place in the Best of the Brainerd Lakes 2023 voters’ choice for best healthcare provider.

Prior to her role at CRMC, Jennifer Burgos served as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse at Riverwood Healthcare Center. Her commitment to professional development marks her academic journey. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bemidji State University, her Master of Arts in Nursing from St. Scholastica, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Frontier University, graduating with honors. Burgos works alongside board-certified Interventional Pain Specialists Dr. Joshua Horowitz and Dr. Dan Lonergan to provide the latest advances in treatment and supportive care to help reduce or alleviate pain and restore quality of life.

Outside work, Jen and her husband, Lito, enjoy life’s adventures of raising four children. They enjoy traveling, especially visiting family in the Philippines, fishing, biking, swimming, and playing with their dogs. Jen is active in her community as an elected school board member and a regular guest columnist for the local newspaper.
