Laboratory Phlebotomist Sheryl Bock of Brainerd this week received Cuyuna Regional Medical Center’s Trophy Fish Award for going above and beyond in her job by creating hand-sewn items to keep patients comfortable during blood draws.
Her nominator wrote, “We keep heat/cool packs in our Phleb area to aid in blood draws. The packs get uncomfortably warm to the skin so Sheryl made little pillowcase sleeves to fit over the packs to make them more comfortable. She used fun, colourful fabrics and even embroidered them with CRMC Lab.”
Bock has been a member of CRMC’s Lab staff since 2007. Other award nominees for May and June were: Recovery RN Mark Asmus, Occupational Therapist Rose Bankers, Environmental Services Aide Linda Blume, Health Information Specialist Roxie Grecula, Medical/Surgical RN Jackie Holmes, Clinic LPN Laura Lee, Certified Medical Assistant Laurie Murphy, Outpatient Pharmacy Staff, Care Center RN Haley Schneider, Patient Access Specialist Jenn Talley and Care Center Registered Nursing Assistant Cat Tollefson.
