Family Medicine Physician Karlee LaFavor, M.D., of Grand Marais, Minn., began treating patients at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center’s Crosby Clinic in late September. She specializes in general family medicine for men, women, and children of all ages.
Dr. LaFavor's special interests include pediatrics, substance abuse treatment, behavioral health, and empowering patients to take control of chronic health conditions. The physician recently completed residency at Aurora Lakeland Family Medicine Residency Rural Training Track in Elkhorn, Wisc. She earned her Medical Degree at the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis and a Bachelor of Science degree in biology at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. She speaks English and Spanish.
Board-certified with the American Board of Family Practice and a member of the American Association of Family Practice, Dr. LaFavor has experience as a Family Medicine Section Resident representative for the American Association of Pro-life OB/GYNs, student leader for the Christian Medical and Dental Associations, and as a peer minister in college.
She and her husband, an ER nurse, were excited to return to the area. Dr. LaFavor was born at CRMC and lived in Northern Minnesota while in high school. Her parents live in Cook County and her grandparents are in Brainerd. Outside of her practice, Dr. LaFavor enjoys her many pets, sewing, gardening, hunting and fishing, and music.
