Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Medical Staff Coordinator Jodi Christopher of Crosby recently became certified as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) by The Certification Commission of National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS).
The CPCS is typically employed or contracted by a healthcare organization and is an integral part of a credentialing team. Christopher’s responsibilities include maintaining compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies; participating in the development and implementation of credentialing processes and procedures; credentialing of physicians, allied health and other practitioners; overseeing adherence to governance bylaws, department rules and regulations, policies pertaining to medical staff, practitioner/provider and the organization; and collecting and maintaining an accurate practitioner database and analyzing verification information.
Christopher has worked at CRMC for 14 years; the last three years as credentialing staff. She also served as a Critical Care Clerk and Registered Nursing Assistant at CRMC and as a supervisor and cashier for Holiday Stationstores. She studied in an accounting clerk program at Central Lakes College.
