Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Announces DAISY Award Recipient

CROSBY, Minn. – Cuyuna Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is honored to recognize Allison Johnson, RN, with the organization’s DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses for outstanding patient care. A CRMC staff member since 2021, Johnson, of Crosby, works as a medical-surgical nurse.

The patient who nominated Johnson for the award wrote in-part, “I would like everyone to know that Allison is one of a kind. From spending those few extra moments, chats about kiddos to just letting me cry and not judging. I hope everyone can get to experience Allison during their time at CRMC because if you haven’t, you are missing out on someone very special who was placed on this earth to do such perfect things. She will light a room up when she comes in with her beautiful smile and comforting eyes. Thank you, Allison, for being not only a great nurse but a God-sent gift to this world. You are an amazing person.”

CRMC implemented the DAISY Award in 2022. A CRMC committee carefully chooses among many deserving nominees quarterly to receive the prestigious recognition. Recipients are presented the award at a celebration attended by the honoree’s colleagues, patients, and visitors. Each honoree receives a certificate commending them as an “Extraordinary Nurse.” The certificate reads: “In deep appreciation of all you do, who you are, and the incredibly meaningful difference you make in the lives of so many people.” Honorees also receive a DAISY Award pin and a beautiful, meaningful sculpture called ‘A Healer’s Touch,’ hand-carved by artists of the Shona Tribe in Zimbabwe.
