Cuyuna Regional Medical Center has added two specialists to its medical staff--General Surgeon Andrew Loveitt, D.O., and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Physician Courtenay Deane, D.O.
Dr. Loveitt will be the fifth surgeon to join the Minnesota Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIMIS). He has been serving as a Surgical Fellow completing post graduate advanced surgical training at MIMIS since this past August. Originally from Gorham, Maine, Dr. Loveitt earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine, and his Bachelor of Science degree at Juniata College in Huntingdon, Penn. He completed a General Surgery Residency at Rowan University in Stratford, New Jersey. The surgeon has won numerous academic awards, published several papers and served as a teaching assistant. Outside of work, Dr. Loveitt enjoys numerous outdoor recreation activities including kayaking, cycling and hiking.
Joining Dr. Loveitt will be his wife, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Physician Courtenay Deane, D.O., who has been practicing at CRMC’s Crosby Clinic on a part-time basis since late this fall. Dr. Deane practices Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, a complete system of medical care that combines the needs of the patient with the current practice of medicine, surgery and obstetrics. Osteopathy can treat neurologic syndromes, digestive disorders, respiratory illness, genito-urinary problems, lymphedema, fibromyalgia/pain syndromes, post-surgical and incisional pains, scar pain, and trauma.
Board Certified in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine, Dr. Deane earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Bachelor of Science in Medical Biology-Medical Sciences degrees at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine. She completed an internship and residency in the Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine Department at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, New York, where she also served as Chief Resident and was named Hospital Intern of the Year. She enjoys alpine and cross-country skiing, biking and water sports.
