Licensed Professional Counselor Pennie Carnes of Hackensack is joining Cuyuna Regional Medical Center’s staff. She will start treating patients in both Crosby and Longville on October 17 and facilitate group sessions.
Carnes specializes in treating addictions, trauma and attachment disorders. Specifically, she treats individuals with sex addiction, money disorders, drug/alcohol dependence and abuse, mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder and general trauma disorders, behavior disorders, anger management and generalized anxiety disorders. She has worked as Vice President of Project Management at New Freedom Corporation since 2011, published books, articles and made numerous presentations.
The counselor holds a Master’s degree in counseling from Argosy University in Dallas and a Bachelor’s degree in counseling from Texas A & M. She is working towards a Ph.D. in counseling education and supervision at Walden University. She is licensed as a chemical dependency counselor and certified as a sexual addiction therapist, multiple addiction therapist and life coach. Carnes is also a member of the American Counseling Association and Society of Advance Sexual Health.
