Decadent cheesecakes donated by the UGLY Cheesecake Co. of Crosslake will be sold at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, Oct. 16, to raise funds for the organization’s Courage Cabinet which financially supports patients fighting cancer so they can focus on healing.
Beginning at 10 a.m. until they are gone, slices of cheesecake will be sold for $5 and a whole cheesecake will be available for $40 in CRMC’s main entrance lobby. Cash and checks payable to CRMC will be accepted.
Cancer has touched most people and unfortunately the number of people diagnosed with cancer continues to increase. The cost of cancer treatment quickly becomes a burden for patients with all types of cancer and even for patients with great insurance, the costs can be overwhelming. All proceeds from the cheesecake sale will benefit the Courage Cabinet which makes the journey a little easier for cancer patients by providing financial assistance to help meet basic needs. Donations are used to provide things like travel assistance, nutrition supplements, medications, compression garments and more to those in the fight of their lives.
The UGLY Cheesecake Co., which operates out of the Crosslake American Legion, is owned by Ryan Nelson and Jason Marcum who also operated Jr.’s No. 19 BBQ Company in Pine River. UGLY (Uncommonly Good, Light, Yet…) cheesecakes are available all over the Brainerd Lakes Area and can be ordered for pick-up or delivery.
